When visiting Scituate, there are many ways to experience the outdoors, including golfing, beachgoing, water sports, or even whale-watching. But perhaps the best way to witness and celebrate the community’s longstanding connection with nature is through the Marshfield Fair. The Marshfield Fair takes place every year at the end of August. This week-long, traditional country fair has been a New England institution for more than 150 years, and it’s considered the premier event of southeastern Massachusetts.
Daily Fair offerings include amusement rides and games, festival food, and arts and crafts vendors. The Fair supports farmers and 4-H competitors, and features musical talent, historical reenactments, competitive sporting events, and several “kids-only” activities. Live shows and demonstrations, agricultural and horticultural displays, and many other fun happenings make the Marshfield Fair the perfect way to enjoy the end of the summer.
The Marshfield Fair is a perfect way to spend time while staying at the Inn at Scituate Harbor. We’re located about fifteen minutes away from the historic Marshfield Fairgrounds and many other local attractions. When staying with us, be sure to check out the Fair for an unforgettable family-friendly experience.
