Things to Do in Scituate Harbor: Start Your Adventure at the Marina
If you want to get out on a boat and access the ocean, the marina is your spot. It’s the closest place in the harbor to head out into the Atlantic.
The facilities offer seasonal dockage and transit dockage with a reservation seven days in advance. You’ll also get dockside power, fresh water, gas/diesel fueling, and phone/cable hookups.
The Marina is conveniently located just one-quarter of a mile from downtown Scituate, making it the perfect place to dock. In downtown, you’ll find casual and fine dining restaurants, boutique shopping, grocery and hardware stores, and entertainment options like the bowling alley and the movie theater.
Nearby you’ll find historic sites like the Ellis House, a Victorian mansion with unique features. Here you can take art workshops and classes and see it restored to its former glory. There’s also Lawson Tower, a turn-of-the-century, European-inspired construction funded by another millionaire.
The marina is within easy walking distance of public beaches in the area. A half-mile jaunt will take you to Sand Hills, a neighborhood with a prime swimming beach.
Whether you’re just stopping over or are planning on a longer stay, Scituate Harbor is an excellent destination for docking, exploring, and cruising the waters.
